Danny, was born and raised partially in Orange County California. His family including him, moved to Texas. At an early age, he was fascinated by design and art thanks to his grandmother. She was a seamstress who worked for a production company, made constant garment alterations for clients, crocheted dresses for little girls and made new garments for her own children. Throughout middle and high school, he continued to be more passionate about art and started to take an interest in fashion a bit. After high school, Danny had enlisted into two colleges and would eventually later drop out due to taking some personal time to figure out what he wanted to do and be in life.
He decided to apply to The Art Institute of Houston for fashion design. With God on his side, he was accepted into the fashion design program. It was here that Danny would further hone his craft and skills as a designer. He wanted to be both a men’s and women’s wear designer. The lack of men’s fashion choices, is what further pushed him to get more involved into the menswear scene.
“I always wanted to challenge myself. I was nervous to even take this leap of faith because of my dyslexia. It is something that I was born and diagnosed with at an early age. Being able to constantly push myself to the limits and also find new and multiple ways to learn how to do or design something, fascinated me.”
Danny’s mother Sonia, is not only his muse but also plays a huge inspirational role in his fashion design career. “Seeing my mother go through so many struggles such as constantly working, overcoming physical abuse, sacrificing a social life, putting a halt on her college degree and also providing for my younger brother and I inspired me in so many ways. Being able to have a mother do everything by herself without a man’s help, was empowering.” It is because of Danny’s mother’s influence, Danny embraces the power of women in every aspect of life.
Through all of Danny’s self discovery, and with his family influence, The Danny Sanchez was born. The mission of The Danny Sanchez is to always make someone feel empowered and loved when wearing our garments.
The brand’s vision is to offer custom couture clothing, as well as have ready to wear pieces for sale online and eventually have wholesale accounts in stores.
My social responsibility, is to make sure the garments are manufactured with companies that pay living wages, have a high waste recovery rate and strive for a carbon neutral footprint.
We are delighted to show you what is in store for 2023…
